JOURNEY TO THE ETERNAL CITY
Itinerary Overview
April 24 - May 6, 2025
-
ROME
We begin our pilgrimage in The Eternal City, the Capital of the World: Rome!
We will spend 3 days in Rome at the beginning of our trip, and 2 days at the end. On April 27, we will attend the Canonization of Bl. Carlo Acutis with Pope Francis!
There simply isn’t enough room here to describe all the beautiful and holy places we will visit from the Sistine Chapel to the underground catacomb tombs of the early Christians.
-
ASSISI
After our initial time in Rome, we travel to Assisi, where we will spend 4 nights with additional travel to nearby places.
The compact medieval town of Assisi, sited atop Mount Subiaso has so much to do and see, from the magnificent views looking to the valley, to the tombs of St. Clare and St. Francis!
While staying here, we will make visits to Siena to celebrate the Feast of St. Catherine, Orvieto and Bolsena, famous for their Eucharistic Miracle in 1263, and to Florence with its cathedral, The Duomo.
-
TURIN
After spending time in the hilly region of Umbria and Tuscan, we travel north towards the Alps to arrive in Turin.
There, we will visit the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist, where the Holy Shroud of Turin, our Lord’s burial cloth is housed. Also in the cathedral is the tomb of Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati.
Among many places we will visit will be Sacre di San Michele, an ancient Benedictine abbey dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel perched atop a mountain and built over 1,000 years ago!
